Murder in Catford

A murder investigation has been launched following a stabbing in
Catford.

Police were called shortly before 13:30hrs on Wednesday, 6 February by
London Ambulance Service to a report of a woman in her 70′s stabbed at
an address in Glenfarg Road, SE6.

Officers attended and arrested a 40 year old man [A] on suspicion of the
murder. He has been taken to a south London police station where he
remains.

The woman was taken to Lewisham hospital but died later the same day.

A post mortem will be arranged in due course. We await formal
identification.

The incident took place inside the address, enquiries into the
circumstances of the incident are on going.

Detectives from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command are
investigating.
