Murder in Forest Gate

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information after a murder in Forest Gate.

Police were called at approximately 14.00hrs on Thursday 9 May to the area of Sandringham Road E7.

Officers, London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended, and two teenage boys were found suffering stab wounds.

A 17 year old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Next of kin have been informed, though we await formal identification.

A post-mortem examination began at 16.00hrs today (10 May).

A 16 year old was taken to an east London hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

An incident room has opened at Barking under DCI Dave Whellams (HSCC).

DCI Whellams said: “At this stage it appears there was an altercation between the two victims and another group.

“We encourage any witnesses or anyone with information on the incident to come forward.”

+ Later that afternoon on 9 May, a man [A - 21 ys] was arrested on suspicion of murder and he remains in custody at an east London police station.

Later that day 3 other men [B/C - both 17 ys; D - 18 ys] were arrested on suspicion of murder, and they remain in custody at an east London police station.
