Detectives in Knowsley are investigating the murder of two women in Knowsley Village.

At around 12-noon this afternoon (Thursday, 28 November), a man attended Huyton police station to report the incident. Officers subsequently attended an address in Home Farm Road and discovered the bodies of two women, one believed to be in her 20s and the other in her 50s.

A 55-year-old man from the Knowsley Village area has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with this incident. He has been taken into police custody where he will be questioned by detectives.

At this time the women are yet to be formally identified and next of kin are being sought. A Home Office Post Mortem will take place to establish the causes of death.

Enquiries continue, however detectives believe the offender and victims were known to each other.

The scene has been cordoned off for forensic examination by Crime Scene Investigators and house-to-house enquiries will be carried out in the area.

Detectives would urge anyone who has information that could help their enquiry to contact 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
