Witness appeal after double-fatal road traffic collision

Police are currently dealing with a serious road traffic collision in Great Barton where two people have died.

 The collision occurred at around 10:45am this morning, Wednesday 29 January, along the A143 and involved a car and a HGV lorry.
Two people inside the car were pronounced deceased on scene. There were no other passengers in the vehicle.
The HGV driver has no serious injuries.
The ambulance and fire service are on scene, the road is currently closed and diversions have been put in place.
Police understand a number of people who may have witnessed the collision left the scene prior to the arrival of officers and are keen to hear from them.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101.
