At around 6:15pm on Sunday 8 May, the 19-year-old victim was stood outside the Concourse Shopping Centre with friends when they have been approached by two men. One of the pair pushed the victim whilst the other kicked out and caught his stomach.
The offenders made off after being challenged by the victim’s friends and when security staff appeared.
PC 2616 David Hogan from Skelmersdale Police said: “This was an unprovoked assault which could have easily escalated had the victim’s friends and Concourse staff not helped.
“If you know who these men are, please get in touch with us at your earliest opportunity.”
The offenders are described as white and possibly Eastern European. One of them was slim, around 5ft 6ins with short, straight, dark brown hair. He was wearing a salmon checked shirt and blue jeans.
The second man was stocky, approximately 5ft 5ins, clean shaven with cropped hair and wore a black t-shirt and blue jeans.
