Appeal for Information Following Incident in West Derby

Merseyside Police is continuing to appeal for information following an incident in which a 43 year-old man suffered a wound to the head.

The man presented himself at hospital Tuesday 17th. It is believed he had been inside The Lingmill Inn on Muirhead Avenue East in West Derby when he suffered the injury.

Enquiries are ongoing as to how he sustained the injury.

The pub is currently subject to a closure order pending a full hearing on Tuesday 31st May and a search of the pub was continuing today.

Three men – a 54 year-old, a 51 year-old and a 25 year-old – who were arrested yesterday on suspicion of s18 assault are continuing to be questioned today.

Tests are continuing on a suspected air weapon recovered from the scene.

Enquiries are ongoing in the area and forensic and CCTV opportunities have been explored.
